Competitions Description


1.     Debate competition

Nature of the competition : team based competition, consisting of 3 people each  team.


The debate competition is a match ups between team which consist of 3 people each. The team will give their arguments about a “motion” chosen beforehand. They will take sides on the motion, having the different point of view of the case. E – Party 2011 is using Asian Parliament style which allows POI ( Points of Information) during the 7 minutes substantive speeches of the speaker and followed by 4 minutes of reply speech. The purposes of this

competition are to develop public speaking skills, to widen knowledge and to sharpen mind, logic, and critical thinking of the students.

2.     News Casting competition
Nature of the competition : individual competition

            Have you ever imagined yourself as a news presenter? Try out your news casting skills by joining this competition. In E – Party 2011, we challenge you to present news as news anchors do within a given time and the topic is given by the committee. Not only regular news reading, but also interviews and weather forecasts. News casting competition develops the participant’s skill in reading and presenting news, sharpen your communication skill, intelligence and spontaneity.


3.     Scrabble competition
Nature of the competition :  team based competition, each team consist of 2 people.

            Scrabble is a board game with a nature similar to a crossword puzzle. Each team forms interlocking words out of randomly picked letters on the game board and aim for the highest score possible. Each letter is worth various different values. E – Party 2011 is using Meriam Webster 11th College Dictionary which is based on international rules. The purpose of this competition is not only to test and increase the participant’s vocabulary, but also combine the vocabulary skills and your strategies to take the best advantage of letter values and premium square on the board.


4.     Story Telling
Nature of the competition  :  individual competition

            Story telling competition is a competition where the participants show their creativity in visualizing any stories to audiences in attractive and unique ways within pre-determined time. Originality, creativity, and attractiveness of delivery the stories are the main focus in this competition. This competition develops your public speaking, self – confidence, and creativity for sure.


5.     Speech
Nature of the competition  : individual competition 
            Speech competition is a competition where the participants show their speech in 8 minutes upon a topic that is given by the committee. The aspects that will be judged in this competition are content of the speech, grammatical, pronounciation, and performance. Our purpose of making this competition is not only to show their abilities in oral presentation but also one of express their oration in English.
